Big Spring Partners presented a lighting preview of a downtown Utilities Substation Lighting Initiative on Thursday, September 24^th at 8:00 PM at the downtown utilities substation.

Big Spring Partners has contracted with Theatrical Lighting (TLS) to present this lighting opportunity on about 25% of the substation area. Transformers and power poles have a colorful transformation. A computerized light program bathes an area of the substation in colorful lights. All of the lights used are LED’s and are in line with the Green Initiative going on worldwide. TVA and the Huntsville Utilities have allowed BSP this opportunity to work with TLS to make this opportunity possible.

The lighting event will be on during the Big Spring Jam weekend.

BSP believes this lighting initiative will attract individuals to the downtown area to see another beautification area of interest for our citizens and it is our hope that after the demonstration project during the Jam we will have interested individuals who will assist BSP in creating this initiative on a permanent basis.
